Salient facts he wants you to know

Brian was born a long time ago in Walthamstow in east London, England. He grew up without the benefit of dogs but his parents did allow a cat and the breeding of budgerigars. This was when he got interested in genetics especially the colour inheritance factor. After graduating from Sir George Monoux grammar school he started in the work force in the banking industry. After a two year stint in the Royal AIr Force where has spent one year in Germany (mainly playing basketball), he returned to England where he resumed his banking duties and met Eileen. His life has not been the same since.

Because of the involvement of Eileen's family in dogs it was not long before he became hooked. It started with the family Boxer (Babs) and her daughter Bubbles. The art of stripping was not known to Brian but Eileen had some experience. Her father bred Airedale and Wire Haired Terriers and stripping those breeds was an art form which Eileen had acquired.

Shortly after our marriage we acquired a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. This was followed by an Alsatian (German Shepherd) and an Airedale Terrier. Although our dogs in England were not 'trained' - they just seemed to come well behaved - it was thought that it would be wise to attend dog training classes. There Brian learned the art of training 'the old fashioned' way. After several months of attending classes, Brian was asked to show a newcomer how to do some basic exercises (Heel and Sit). This was the start of dog training to help the public.

Brian has since put Canadian Kennel Club titles on a number of the family dogs and those of clients. He is a CKC licensed judge for both Obedience and Rally Obedience and also a judge for CARO (Canadian Association of Rally Obedience). He is a graduate of 'The Purebred Dog - A Hobby or a Profession' where the curriculum included genetics, breeding, bone structure, musculature and movement of the dog. He is also the guest author of the Canadian chapter in 'The Complete Rottweiler' written by Muriel Freeman and published by Howell/McMillan.
