Eileen was raised in a family that was engrossed with dogs. Her father bred, trained and exhibited both Airedale and Wire-Haired Fox Terriers. He had an 'eye' for a dog and had perfected the art of hand stripping the terrier breeds. Her extended family were also involved in the 'dog game' in England so she was exposed to German Shepherds, Boxers, Irish Setters, Pekingese as well as a variety of other breeds. She has handled her own and clients’ dogs in conformation and has the distinction of owner handling the only Rottweiler Female to win the Rottweiler Club of Canada Specialty shows back to back. Participant in Pet therapy visitations. Worked in and managed a veterinary hospital. She was a long time Rottweiler breed column contributor to Dogs in Canada as well as editor of "Rottweilers in Canada", the national newsletter for the Rottweiler Club of Canada and that of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of Ontario and the Grey Bruce Kennel & Obedience Club. Eileen has taken a life long interest in the choosing and raising of puppies and she now specializes in early puppy training from 7-8 weeks onwards and continues to work with older dogs and their problems. She has been a regular contributor on dog training and related matters to local publications.
